Equipment
All Police Officers carry equipment that is used to help them in their role. Some Officers carry specialist equipment that is not available to regular PCs; such as AFO (Authorised Firearm Officers) who carry firearms for the most dangerous situations. All Officers are taser trained. Remember, this guide is for best case scenarios only. In reality there are situations that can not be accounted for. In life or death situations, if an officer believes that they, or someone else is going to be killed if action is not taken, anything goes. Do not be afraid to use your equipment in ways that are not listed below. If you can defend your actions to your superior, moderators, and colleagues there would never be an issue. Props Props such as traffic signs and cones can be used by any Police Officers from the F5 menu on foot. You will be trained on how to properly close a road using cones and signs when you apply for the role of PC. Make sure you use all props responsibly. You must use the Delete Item option at the bottom of the prop menu when you are leaving the scene to ensure you have not left anything behind. Extendable baton (ASP) All Officers carry an ASP that has a wide variety of uses. In general though the Baton should only be used when absolutely necessary. This is because an ASP is essentially just a long, heavy stick made from hardened steel. It can break bones, cause internal bleeding and even kill. A baton can be more effective than a taser when Officers are outnumbered by subjects. A taser can only effectively deal with a single subject at a time. A drawn and cocked baton combined with loud verbal commands may be more effective and intimidating to a crowd than a taser drawn. A baton is also sometimes used on vehicles or property. If a dangerous subject has locked themselves in their car, a baton tip can break the window. This is useful because it means; the car in question will stand out more if officers have to search or pursue it, and if stopped and safe, an officer can reach in through a broken window to unlock the door. In real life, Officers are told that baton strikes should be directed at the limbs (arms and legs) as this has the least potential for permanent harm. Baton strikes elsewhere, especially thehead may be considered use of lethal force. Taser (Requires PC+) In reality, most officers are not trained to have a taser. However on the server every Officer of rank PC or above carries one. They are incredibly effective at short ranges. Usually after being tased a subject has no injuries. However officers should also consider the situation, a taser in rare cases can cause heart attacks and death. There is a risk of the offender causing head injury falling onto concrete. Officers should use extreme caution when using a taser on a subject near flammable materials, on roofs, ledges or at the top of stairs. Officers in real life are trained to aim and fire directly at the center of the subject's chest as this gives the best chance of good contact being made. Drawing a Taser counts as using force. As such tasers should NOT be drawn unless there is a clear danger to officers or civilians. Flashlight Hold Right Click to use the flashlight. You should not be using the flashlight as a weapon at any time. Fire Extinguisher Hold Right Click to use the fire extinguisher. It does not extinguish in-game fires. Officers may use it for roleplaying purposes. You should not be spraying the fire extinguisher towards people, or using it as a weapon. Radar/Speed Gun A speed gun must be taken from a vehicle's boot. It will appear in your weapon wheel as a vintage pistol, when holding it press Y to activate it. Then hold Right Click to point it at vehicles and C to get a speed reading at the bottom of your screen. The speed gun is not a weapon however, pedestrians and civilians will see it as one and will start fleeing / become aggravated if you point it directly at them, do not abuse this. First Aid Kits All police cars carry a large amount of medical supplies in their boots. You can access them by pressing Y when you are next to the boot. This will heal you to full health. You can also roleplay medical situations by grabbing medical supplies to use on another officer or civilian. Body Armor All Police Officers wear stab proof vests, known as “stabbies”. You can access them by pressing Y when you are next to the boot. This will give you 50% armor. If you're attacked you can roleplay switching out your old stabbie for a new one at the station or from your car. The Enforcer / “The Big Red Key” The Enforcer, or Big Red Key is a large battering ram used by police to break the locks off doors. The only use for this at the moment is in game roleplay situations where somebody is inside a house. You can access them by pressing Y when you are next to the boot. There is no excuse and no reason for this to ever be used as a weapon or swung.

Sepura Radio
Radio First Use When you first log onto the server you’ll need to set up the radio, to do this you’ll need to press both Left Shift + F2, you will be presented a radio showing a black screen on the bottom right of your screen. When you have loaded up the radio, you’ll need to turn it on, to do this press the Green ‘talk’ button to the left of the arrow keys. Once you’ve done this, you’ll be automatically put onto channel ‘London Emergency Central’ Radio Shortcuts Below is a quick start guide to the radio and the keyboard shortcuts to change channel. Channel Name Abbreviation Channel MHz Keyboard Shortcut London Emergency Central 1 Incident 1 Incident 2 Incident 3 Incident 4 Operations 1 Operations 2 Operations 3 Training 1 Tr 1 Training 2 Tr 2 10 N/A Introduction to the new Sepura Radio System The Sepura Radio system is a radio that is used by the British Emergency Services and allows encrypted transmissions so that the general public cannot listen into radio transmissions from a general receiver. Below is a comprehensive list of the channels available to us, and their operational usage. London Emergency Central London Emergency Central is the general radio channel used on the server, unless you’re on an Organised Patrol or have been instructured by a Sergeant or above to move channel, you must use this. This is where it all happens, requests for back-up, communication when a panic button is pressed and general state code transmission when responding to calls. **Note, to change channels you can either use your mouse cursor to use the arrow keys on the radio itself or use a keyboard shortcut that will be put at the bottom of this document.** Incident 1, Incident 2, Incident 3 and Incident 4 (Inc1, Inc2, Inc4 and Inc4) The Incident channels are integral to the smooth running of the server, these are only to be used when an incident is declared on the server, this could be a Pursuit, Call for help, Officer down or Panic button activation, to use any of these channels you need authorisation from a Sergeant or above, if any of the staff team are unavailable you are able to utilise these at your discretion. Operations 1, Operations 2 and Operations 3 (Ops1, Ops2 and Ops3) The Operations Channels are only to be used when there is an Organised Patrol on the server, these channels will be allocated to a certain division within the server when the Patrol starts, you MUST use the channel assigned to you when taking part in the Patrol/Operation. Training 1 and Training 2 (Tr1 and Tr2) The two training channels are only to be used during training and can only be authorised to use by a member of the Senior Staff Team, College of Policing, or Divisional Training Staff

Overview
In this document, we aim to try and teach you the basics of Roleplay within the Server. This will include the basic rules and how to carry yourself with the professionalism of a Police Officer.
We usually have RP events three or four times a week (sometimes even more) each with a variety of different situations, we will try to cover the basic RP skills/knowledge that you will need to properly Roleplay in the Server.
Roleplay
Within the PoliceMP Server, we try to incorporate some basic roleplay within our actions in the Server. This is to allow for you to grab enjoyment out of a scene as well as allow others around you to enjoy the scene thoroughly.
When playing on PoliceMP as a Police Officer you must make sure you are roleplaying as a Police Officer only. This will include a few set guidelines that we will be talking about further in the document like The Way you Drive; The Way you Speak to Others, and The Processes you Take Within a Scene. Only trained persons can civilian role play, or roleplay out of an ongoing event. You shouldn't role play yourself just for fun.
How do I Roleplay?
When roleplaying it is up to your imagination what you do, as long as you are following the rules and roleplaying as an officer you have pretty much free reign on how and when you roleplay in the server. The extent or the level of your roleplay is completely up to you. If you want to create a character and build a story behind your character or if you simply just want to roleplay as any other Police Officer that is up to you. Just be mindful that our Civilian Role players are scripted, so if you prompt them and ask for things correctly, they will release information to you (most of the time)
You are not expected to roleplay with AI, but when we host RP events it is encouraged that you try some roleplay and if it’s something you aren’t interested in, allow someone who is to have a go.
How do I talk like a Police Officer?
When you are roleplaying as a Police Officer you need to offer up a sense of professionality as well as understanding. It is our job to ensure that the people are being heard and that we are making sure that we understand their situation. Ways of doing this are:

I can assure you that...
What do you feel we could do?
Make sure you make them feel like you understand their emotions and that you aren’t there to tick boxes but there to listen.
Getting on their level
When talking to people it is sometimes best that you try your best to make them trust you whether they are victims, witnesses or suspects. When you are talking to someone you will try to match their way of speaking and try good cop bad cop. Sometimes, it’s clear that an Officer isn't engaging or getting the interaction they need, it may be prudent to inter jack and try a new approach.
This will allow them to associate with you a lot easier as they will feel you are more relatable and therefore might be able to give you more information/self incriminate/ give a much more detailed statement or simply report to the police a lot more in the future.
You still have to act like a Police Officer and have that sense of professionalism.
Making an Arrest
When arresting someone you must make sure you read their caution so the things that they say can be used in court.
“You do not have to say anything. But, it may harm your defence if you do not mention when questioned something which you later rely on in court. Anything you do say may be given in evidence.”
You must also make sure you search them and tell the Prisoner Transport/ Custody Sergeant the contents of the Search. You may also say:
“I am going to be searching you because you have been arrested for... Do you have anything on your persons that may harm me or my colleagues? If you fail to mention something that laters harms me or my colleagues you may be charged with assault.”
Professionalism
When playing on the server you must show a sense of professionalism. This does not mean you can’t have fun, this simply means you need to remember you are roleplaying a Police Officer and that you must do things that a Police Officer may do.
If you do things a Police Officer won’t do, you MAY risk getting a warning from a moderator.
When playing on the server you need to show respect to your higher ranks as well as everyone else on the server. This is due to the roleplay as well as the simple rules.
Driving Standards
When driving in the server you are expected to follow the road laws at all times. If you do not know the road laws that are perfectly fine just use common sense eg not driving 110mph through a one road system within the city.
What happens if I don’t drive sensibly?
We have a department called Driving Standards. If you are caught driving inappropriately you may get a simple verbal warning or a warning on your record. However, you may also get points on your license this can be very detrimental to your career within the PoliceMP Server.
Divisions like the Roads Policing Unit do not accept officers with points on their license.
6 points on your license - You will be warned.
9 points on your license - You will be warned again.
12 points on your license - You will be banned from driving for 3 weeks.
Speed Limits
These Speed limits are guides. Use common sense and apply these guide accordingly
Road Type Speed limit
Small Residential Roads 20-30mph
Residential Roads 30-40mph
City Roads 40mph
Main City Roads 50mph
Country Roads 60-70mph
Motorways 60-70mph
Blue Light Driving (Response Driving)
As a Police Officer, you are “exempt” from traffic laws if you are able to prove you are doing it within the best interests of the public or you have reasonable cause to do so as long as you are doing it safely.
You also are expected to turn your light and sirens on and respond to a scene at speeds higher than the speed limit.
Response Units 20mph over speed limits.
RPU units are able to go 90mph MAX within city limits.
Interceptors and AFOs have no max.
Driving Faster than permitted may cause you to get a warning on points on your license
When driving with lights and sirens you do not need to be travelling at max speeds adjust to your surroundings and perform your own risk analysis in your head. Eg small residential roads slow down. Wet Conditions Slow Down.
Police Officer Medical Roleplay (DR & [C]ABC)
When performing medical Roleplay there is a variety of injuries that you will come across in this document. We will cover the bare basics to teach you how to do medical roleplay in a general sense.
DR
D - Danger
Before even attempting to perform medical RP, you must ensure that the scene has been secured and that you are able to perform medical safely. This will ensure that no one else will be injured causing a much more severe situation.
This can be done via road closures or a Police presence in a perimeter. As well as a perimeter make sure that all weapons have been collected by CID or AFO. You basically want to make sure you are Safe.
R - response
Can they hear you, do they feel any pain if they can’t hear you, can they feel your touch?
Call for help!
[C]ABC
CABC is a checklist that you should do every time you arrived on the scene or if you are beginning your Medical. CABC is in Order of priority.
C - Critical -
Is there anything critical? ie. Open Artery, Major Bleeding, Fire, Gas etc.
A - Airways -
Are their airways clear? Look down their throat is there vomit or swallowed tongue. Nothing visible tilt their head back to keep airways open. [Risks Spinal Injury - but if they aren’t breathing they will die]
If something is in Airways. Try to clear with fingers or by Heimlich.
B - Breathing -
Are they breathing? Put your ear next to their mouth and look down their chest.
Can you feel their breath? Can you see their chest move EVENLY?
If UNEVEN they may have a punctured Lung. If no breath begin rescue breath and CPR.
C - Circulation -
Do they have a pulse? If not begin CPR - 30 compressions and 2 breaths at a time. Call EMS, Arrange for DeFib. (/e CPR)
